moving along

Oslo Oslo
I’m almost halfway through my time at home. The time I hoped to fill with productivity, but should have known would turn into the vacation I sorely needed. While it is a strange feeling to no longer meet anyone I know on the night bus, or run into old classmates at the store, it also gives me some kind of closure, because the life and the people I used to know have both changed.

There are new houses, new idioms and somehow I always forget how different people are. And though it takes me longer to get used to the lack of politeness and stone cold faces of baristas, taking the bus into Oslo still brings me the same kind of joy it always has. My little-big city, with its crowded summer streets, overpriced beer and the smell of the ocean wafting in between the buildings.

Like I said, I’m almost halfway, and tomorrow I get up early and head out of the country for a couple of days. Three days in Italy and two in Denmark; just enough to soothe my wanderlust and make me feel like I am taking advantage of my funemployment in the best possible way. The next couple of days will be spent wandering around with my camera, scouting the area for coffee, pizza, pasta and wine, and pondering my next move in life.

And while “blog like a boss” was high on my to-do list while in Norway, it has quickly fallen further down the list as the weather continues to try to convince me to move back home..
