Colorado Getaway

One of my goals for the upcoming year and months I spend in the States is to travel more – by car! Growing up in Norway, driving was not as much a part of the culture, nor was driving anywhere far anything I looked forward to, besides the part that I was going somewhere. I’ve always been restless, always enjoyed exploring, and with that in mind, as well as ridiculously high domestic air fare, my (not-so) trusted, four-wheeled companion will be adding some more miles to its already impressive amount. (Getting close to 200k, guys!)

With that in mind, we piled up, two sisters and our S.O.s in a car full of snacks, and headed west for some city and mountain time. Lincoln-Denver-Longmont-Boulder-Denver-Winter Park-Rocky Mountain National Park-Estes Park-Denver-Lincoln. Four much-needed days of vacation and mountain air, beer, ice cream and hotel breakfasts, thanks to my sister’s Hilton employee discount.

Fresh off the road we found ourselves at Wynkoop Brewery with just enough energy to finish our drinks and order an Uber back to our hotel.

Spent our next day exploring Longmont and Boulder, including happy hour at The Next Door, where I promptly filled up on kale chips, fried pickles and beet sliders.

Tuesday started on the road, through Rocky Mountain National Parks, including a picnic for small and not-so-small.

Also, the main downside to being completely attached to my 50mm lens, is when you finally stumble upon some wildlife, and this is the best you can do!

Ended our CO adventure with pizza and ice cream, followed by beers and a movie in bed.
